Leo Mongillo
Leonardo was a student and then an associate lawyer with a downtown Toronto boutique family law firm from 1999 until 2015 when he opened his own practice. In particular, he assisted clients in high conflict divorce cases. He is certified to practice Collaborative Family Law and has proficiently represented clients through the Collaborative law process in the Greater Toronto Area.
Leonardo has represented clients at all three levels of courts in Ontario (Ontario Court of Appeal, at the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Justice). He has represented clients across the GTA, including in Toronto, Newmarket, Milton, Brampton, Oshawa, Lindsay, Barrie, Peterborough, and Bracebridge. He has represented clients in litigation, collaborative family law, and through the mediation and arbitration process.
Leonardo has a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from York University. His business acumen has assisted him in deciphering complicated financial arrangements and has provided a foundation to find solutions to the financial complexities of family law proceedings.
Leonardo prides himself on his negotiating skills and finding real solutions and settlements so that his clients can move on with their lives comfortably. His practice primarily focuses on family law, including domestic contracts, divorce, custody and access, child protection, support, property, and equalization issues. Leonardo is supported by a professional team and a network of professionals.
Leonardo is a family man who understands the difficulty and joys of raising children. He is also sensitive to each clients’ unique family needs and issues. He understands that each family requires a tailored approach. Interviewed in My Business Magazine, Leonardo said:
“We all need laughter and hope, especially in family law which is filled with turmoil and negative feelings. We should all strive to see and bring out the best in each other. I have seen client’s self-realization of their true worth and potential bring tears of happiness and smiles where confusion, sadness, and fear once resided.”
Leonardo is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, The Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Bar Association. He was interviewed for My Business Magazine, which can be read here.
Frank Perriccioli
Frank is a Senior Law Clerk at Mongillo Law. With over 30 years of experience as a law clerk working in family law, Frank’s knowledge is thorough and well-practiced. Frank’s experience includes drafting court documents, domestic contracts, preparing and organizing disclosure and corresponding with opposing counsel and other professionals in the day-to-day management of files. His meticulousness is a great asset to clients when discerning and analyzing financial disclosure to ensure that clients are able to resolve their cases fairly and as expeditiously as possible. He strongly believes in the words of Danny DeVito in the movie War of the Roses that in family law, there is no winning, only degrees of losing. Frank and Leonardo have worked together for over 20 years and have successfully focused on minimizing the difficult experiences clients face during their separation. In his career, he has experience in both large and small family law boutique firms in downtown Toronto and navigated various court procedures throughout the GTA. Frank has been married for more than 25 years to his lovely wife and is a proud father of two adult boys. He is a huge sports fan, with a love for baseball in particular. He had the privilege of coaching both his boys at various stages when they played baseball growing up. Frank is also an avid golfer, although his golf handicap does not reflect this. Frank and his family have lived in Halton since 2004.
